Future of Retail Banking Conference

In November 2009 Xayce attended the Future of Retail Banking Conference in London.

Presentations by speakers across the industry included the FSA, Barclays, IBM, NS&I and Santander, in addition to newer players in the sector such as Tesco. This year the event also included representation from the Conservative and the Liberal Democrats parties.

Some key themes emerging from the various sessions included: the rapid emergence of the mobile channel, and new brands in the banking sector; how differentiation of product offering and the approach to which customers are engaged and serviced will be key; the effect of tighter controls on the industry; how the next election will be pivotal to the future direction of regulation within the sector.
